Ford presented its All-Wheel drive Focus RS

Ford presented its new cool Focus RS hatchback. New model has turbocharged 2.3-liter engine with 320 HP and 6-gear manual transmission along with 4-wheel drive upgraded system.

Unfortunately you will not be able to find detailed information about RevoKnuckle revolutionary separate steering knuckles as well as locking the front differential in the official press-release devoted to new Ford Focus RS. However, it does not mean that all those features are in past.

Moreover new model can boast special upgraded all-wheel drive transmission which helps to prevent the effect of torque steering. New transmission is equipped by three clutches as well as thrust vector control.

You can forget about Volvo 5-cylinder engine that was used for Ford models before. New RS has 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with 320 HP under its bonnet which can also be found in Ford Mustang. Despite the fact it does not have automatic transmission as well as other “robots”; drivers will certainly appreciate 6-gear manual transmission. The torque is transmitted directly on all 4 wheels with rear axle which can go up to 70% of thrust.

The same system can be also found in other expensive crossovers of premium class. They include Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Nothing is kown about dynamic characteristics of new RS. However there is some information available about equipment which can be found inside the cabin. There are lots of different gadgets and tools which made new model more comfortable in comparison with its predecessors.

Basic modification will come with standard bi-xenon head lights, electronic safety system packages, SYNC multimedia complex which also includes 8-inch sensor display and voice managing and control system. At the same time new car will also be equipped with reverse camera and SONY stereo system.

New Ford Focus RS is expected to be shown at Geneva and New-York auto show.
